Troy L. Hunt, Northwest College

Colleagues:
I am honored for the opportunity to represent District 7 of the Broadcast Education Association. I have been a member of the BEA since 1993 and have actively participated in District 7 all that time.

I strongly believe that the two-year and small schools should have strong, separate representation within the BEA. Our mission as community colleges and the challenges we share with small baccalaureate granting institutions makes us unique. As such, our voices should be heard.

During my time with District 7 I have seen our mind-set grow. We now reach out to, and embrace our colleagues in high schools who need our support. Inviting them to join in our process helps to feed students at their schools, and can help draw those students into our programs.

My service to the BEA has been in many roles. Most recently, I have been involved in the leadership of the Two-Year/Small School division for the past 5 years. During this time I have been actively involved in the planning and successful function of the division in the BEA.

I have also served as the representative to the BEA Festival of Media Arts for six years: four years with the Faculty Audio competition and two years with the Two-Year/Small School competition. I have also served as a judge for the Festival several times.

It is my commitment to be as responsive and supportive of your input as possible. When serving as a representative leader, I work to truly represent. With this in mind, I will make myself open to your input as well as passing along information pertinent to your work as well as to the function of the District within the BEA.

I ask for your support in this opportunity to serve District 7 and the BEA.
Best regards,
Troy L. Hunt
