BEA 3rd District Representative Candidate
I have been involved as a BEA member since 1993, submitting and presenting research papers, participating on panels and serving as the Research Division’s coordinator for the New Faculty Research grant, vice chair for paper competition and division chairperson. I seek this position because I wish to continue service to BEA by representing the needs and desires of district members on the Board of Directors.
It’s important for us to build on the legacy we have inherited by continuing to create opportunities for presenting and showcasing our scholarship, exchanging new and innovative ideas for research and pedagogical approaches, and student engagement. Further, it’s essential that we continue to provide for a nurturing environment for new and future scholars. It is with this in mind that I want to continue my service to my academic colleagues as your 3rd District BEA representative. Besides my academic experience, I bring over 20 years management and business experience as a former broadcast professional. In addition, I have served on various non-profit boards of directors, as a director and chairperson. In the latter capacity I have always seek ways to serve organizational members, providing inventive ways to grow programs while developing creative means to support and sustain them financially . It is this experience I wish to bring in serving the 3rd District and BEA members. Building on the legacy that those before us created, I wish to serve and work for today’s BEA membership and prepare for tomorrow’s scholars and members.
