2020-21 Scholarships

Deadline: October 14, 2019

BEA Scholarships in Broadcasting & Electronic Media

The Broadcast Education Association (BEA) is the premier international academic media organization, promoting insights, excellence in media production, and career advancement for educators, students, and professionals.  BEA administers scholarships annually, to honor broadcasters and the entire electronic media profession.  The BEA Founders Awards are for students enrolled in a BEA 2-Year member institution or graduates of these programs now enrolled in a BEA 4-Year institution.  Other scholarships are awarded to juniors, seniors and/or graduate students at BEA member institutions – unless otherwise noted in the descriptions listed below.

All applicants in the current BEA Scholarship competition, except those applying for the Founders Award, will automatically also be considered for the recently announced Edward O. Fritts Scholarship.

Scholarship recipients will be announced in late November, and the money will be awarded in the summer of 2020, to be applied to the 2020-2021 academic year.  PILOT Media Technology recipients will receive their scholarship checks in late March.

All scholarships require the same hard copy application EXCEPT the PILOT Media Technology award for which the student applies online.
