The BEA Board of Directors is calling for nominations to fill three Academic Director positions on the BEA Board. For the first time, these positions will be nominated and elected nationally at large, rather than by geographic district
We are seeking nominees who can provide strong leadership and active service to BEA, with a focus on supporting members, strengthening communication across the organization, and helping advance BEA’s programs and priorities. Academic Directors will serve as liaisons between the Board and BEA’s Interest Divisions, work with division leaders, and contribute to membership recruitment, retention, and service. Nominees must be current full-time faculty members.
This will be the first election of BEA’s new Academic Directors, who will fill the Board seats previously held by geographic district representatives. As part of this transition, the newly elected directors will have an important role in helping shape and continue to build BEA’s newly designed Board structure. Each two-year term begins in April 2027 and ends in April 2029. Academic Directors may serve two consecutive two-year terms.
Antonio Mora, University of Miami, has served one (1) two-year term and is eligible to be nominated for another term on the BEA Board of Directors.
Adam Kuban, Ball State University, and Victor Evans, Seattle University, have served two (2) consecutive two-year terms and are ineligible to be nominated for another term at this time.
Members receiving three (3) or more nominations will be placed on the BEA election ballot.
BEA will conduct the nomination and election process entirely online through BEA’s membership platform. No nomination forms will be mailed.
