Great Ideas for Assessment (GIFA)

The BEA Great Ideas for Assessment (GIFA) is a forum produced by the Curriculum, Assessment & Administration Division, where faculty can share their expertise in assignment assessment techniques, effective program evaluation methods, or streamlined accreditation processes. GIFA provides the platform to share your expertise with colleagues facing similar challenges. We invite concise abstracts (250 words maximum) describing creative approaches to assignment assessments, program evaluation, or accreditation-related measurement tools. Selected participants will showcase their ideas during GIFA at BEA’s annual convention.

GIFA emphasizes practical takeaways and showcases assessment tools. Submissions may include proven assessment tools or new methods for curriculum or program evaluation that faculty can adapt to their own programs. Submissions that include rubrics, process guides, or evaluation tools as takeaways for participants will receive priority consideration for acceptance.

Submit your GIFA for the 2026 Great Ideas for Assessment! Submissions will be considered for inclusion in a special issue of the Journal of Media Education.
