Special Interest Group (SIG) Research-in-Progress at BEA2027
Social Media | Strategic Communication
Submission Deadline: December 15
At BEA, we recognize that media is evolving faster than ever, with new technologies reshaping communication, education, and industry. To address emerging issues and ongoing research transforming media and media education, we are creating Special Interest Groups. These SIGs provide a forum for research-in-progress, offering opportunities to spotlight timely scholarship. Submitted research will be presented during panels at BEA’s annual convention in Las Vegas.
All research can be submitted through BEA’s convention submission platform. Available soon!
This year we are producing two SIGs: Social Media and Strategic Communication.
The Special Interest Groups (SIGs):
-The Social Media SIG seeks scholarship that examines the ever-evolving role of social media. Topics can include engagement, algorithms, ethics, pedagogy, misinformation & more.
Chair: Amanda Czuprynski, Regent University – amanczu@mail.regent.edu
-The Strategic Communication SIG brings together scholars exploring how individuals and organizations strategically use communication media to inform, influence, engage, and build relationships with audiences. We welcome research on strategic planning, public relations, advertising, branding, organizational communication, crisis communication, and strategic communication pedagogy.
