Goucher College seeks an educator and artist to teach media production as Visiting Assistant Professor of Digital Arts in the Department of Media Arts and Studies. The position is a one-year, non-tenure-track appointment beginning in August 2025 and has a teaching load of 6 courses for the 2025-2026 academic year. There is a good chance of a search for a tenure-track position in this field next academic year. The candidate should have broad-based working knowledge of video and digital media technologies in the creation of narrative, documentary, and/or interactive media. Experience in photography, audio production, and emerging media, as well as new practices due to the impact of artificial intelligence, is highly valued, but not required. Experience teaching the theory, history, and analysis of media will also be considered advantageous, but is not required. Our pedagogy emphasizes the training of students as future producers, directors, writers, editors, and creative artists while also equipping them with the foundational and practical skills required across a broad range of interdisciplinary digital media practices.
