The Urban Electronic Media Award

With support from the Urban Communication Foundation, BEA presents the Urban Electronic Media Award. The award is given to individuals, groups, organizations or institutions whose creative initiatives have enhanced the ability or performance of broadcast and electronic media to promote problem solving, increase civic engagement, or strengthen monitoring of the urban environment in metropolitan areas.  The award will recognize significant and lasting contributions in urban communication.

$2,500 will be awarded at BEA’s annual convention in Las Vegas.

The Urban Communication Foundation promotes research that enhances our understanding of communication patterns in the urban environment and encourages collaboration between communication scholars, urban planners and policy makers.
