MEET THE NEW BROADCAST EDUCATION ASSOCIATION 2015-2016 EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

Washington, D.C. – At the November 2014 BEA Board Meeting, a new executive committee was elected to serve the BEA membership.  Terms for the newly elected executive committee members will begin at BEA2015 in Las Vegas this April.  Please join us in congratulating the new executive committee officers:

President — John Allen Hendricks, Stephen F. Austin State University
Vice President for Academic Relations — Augie Grant, University of South Carolina
Vice President for Industry Relations – Christine H. Merritt, Ohio Association of Broadcasters
Secretary-Treasurer – Michael Bruce, University of Alabama
Immediate Past President – Barry Umansky, Ball State University

In April 2015, Mary C. Schaffer, California State University – Northridge will be rotating off the board as Immediate Past President.  BEA’s executive committee will begin their term in April along with the District Representatives that were elected (and/or re-elected) this past October, listed below.

Stacey Irwin, Millersville University of Pennsylvania, was elected as the new District 3 Representative, replacing Mary Rogus, Ohio University who is rotating off the board in April 2105.  Micheal McAlexander has been elected as the new Interest Division Representative (IDR), replacing Michael Bruce, University of Alabama, who was elected BEA Secretary/Treasurer, and whose term concludes in April 2015.

District 3 – Stacey Irwin, Millersville University of Pennsylvania

District 5 — Tony DeMars, Texas A&M University-Commerce
Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma & Texas

District 7 — Jim Crandall, Aims Community College
All two-year schools in the USA
