The following competitions are designed to showcase creativity, innovation, teaching excellence, and professional practice across multiple areas of media and communication.\u00a0 If you are interested in BEA Interest Division traditional paper competitions, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beaweb.org\/conv\/call-for-papers\/\">click here.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Curriculum, Assessment &amp; Administration Division<br \/>Deadline EXTENDED: January 15<br \/><\/strong>The <strong>BEA Great Ideas for Assessment (GIFA)<\/strong>\u00a0is a forum where faculty can share their expertise in assignment assessment techniques, effective program evaluation methods, or streamlined accreditation processes. GIFA provides the platform to share your expertise with colleagues facing similar challenges. We invite concise abstracts (250 words maximum) describing creative approaches to assignment assessments, program evaluation, or accreditation-related measurement tools. Selected participants will showcase their ideas during GIFA at BEA&#8217;s annual convention. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beaweb.org\/conv\/assessment-boot-camp\/\">Click here for more information.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Service Learning &amp; Community Engagement Division<br \/>Deadline: December 1<\/strong><br \/>The Service Learning &amp; Community Engagement division sponsors a Showcase of Service Learning projects so that we can share ideas, assignments, and experiences. This year, two people will receive $250 each for projects that demonstrate exemplary Community-Engaged Teaching and Learning.\u00a0 Projects will be judged on how the educator practices community-engaged teaching and learning by going beyond classroom experiences to connect theory and practice for students, collaborating with communities to design, implement, and evaluate research solutions to solve problems, and enabling students to reflect critically on their experiences while investing in their own education. <a href=\"https:\/\/beaweb.org\/wp\/slshowcase\/\">Click here for more information.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Student Media Advisors Division<br \/>Deadline: December 15<\/strong><br \/><strong>Dr. Marjorie Yambor Signature Station<\/strong>: The Signature Station Competition is sponsored by BEA\u2019s Student Media Advisors (SMA) interest division.\u00a0 The competition invites submissions of superior protocol and practices at student-run, faculty-advised college radio and television stations.\u00a0 The main mission is to identify and impart areas of excellence in the hands-on facilitation of station functions such as philosophical engagement, community involvement, programming arrangement, branding\/logo development, student management, volunteer recruitment, and broadcast equipment.
