BEA invites media related panel and program proposals from academics, students and professionals for presentation at BEA2019 in Las Vegas<\/b>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The Broadcast Education Association (BEA) is the premiere international academic media organization driving insights, excellence in media production and career advancement for educators, students and professionals.\u00a0 BEA\u2019s annual convention produces over 250 sessions on media pedagogy, collaborative networking events, hands-on technology workshops, research and creative scholarship and the Festival of Media Arts.\u00a0 It is co-located with NAB Show each April in Las Vegas.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Programming Opportunities<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Proposals & Programming<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n BEA\u2019s Interest Divisions significantly shape the convention program.\u00a0 Interest Division leaders review, evaluate and rank the proposals and forward the recommendations to the 2019 Convention Program Chair, Marilyn Terzic.\u00a0 Marilyn can be contacted at\u00a0marilyn.terzic@gmail.com<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Every effort will be made to give each division several invited panel sessions, a competitive paper session and\u00a0a division meeting.\u00a0 Program slots are competitive so if information is not provided in a complete and timely manner, those program slots may be assigned to other session proposals. Priority will be given to panels sponsored by more than one division.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The BEA2019 Convention Spotlight is<\/b>\u2026..<\/b>\u00a0Education & Industry: Mediating the Nexus<\/b> Education & Industry: Mediating the Nexus\u00a0<\/b>serves as a spotlight for the convention, but program proposals are not limited to this area of research and presentation.\u00a0 All sessions must adhere to the goals and objectives of the interest division(s) to which they are submitted (descriptions are listed on the submission site).\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Submit Panels & Program Submissions Online<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n BEA Members can access the BEA2019 All Academic site with their BEA membership login and password.\u00a0\u00a0 If you know you BEA login information\u00a0login to your All Academic account<\/b><\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0If you forgot your BEA membership password,\u00a0click here to reset<\/b><\/a>.<\/b>\u00a0 If you ARE NOT a BEA member, create an\u00a0All Academic\u00a0account by\u00a0clicking here<\/b><\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Submission Process<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Click here to get started.\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Seeking Panels or Panelists Boards<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n BEA members have a variety of research and professional interests and expertise \u2013 and don\u2019t always have the contacts needed to fill a panel, or know who to talk to offer themselves as a panelist.\u00a0 We encourage members to reach out and make new contacts for each convention by using the\u00a0\u201cPanelist Seeking Panels\u201d and \u201cPanels Seeking Panelists\u201d boards in Facebook.\u00a0<\/a>\u00a0Please join the \u201cBEA2019 Seeking Panels & Panelists Board\u201d and post your panel idea to entice panelists or offer your area of expertise to a panel organizer.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n BEA\u2019s Panel Participation Policy<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n To encourage diversified panel participation, it is BEA policy that a person is\u00a0limited\u00a0<\/b>in the number of appearances he\/she may make during the convention.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n To maximize opportunities for diverse participation, session organizers should seek:<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Division Chairs are to evaluate the eligibility of the participants in those proposals submitted to that division. The Program Chair shall determine participant eligibility across divisions once the proposals are submitted.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Co-Sponsored Panels<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Co-sponsored proposals are encouraged. Co-sponsorship occurs when more than one division recommends a specific panel for inclusion in the program.
