Research Division Call for Papers

The Broadcast Education Association's Research Division invites faculty, graduate students, and professionals to submit research papers to be considered for presentation at the 50 th Annual Convention & Exhibition, April 21-23, 2005, in Las Vegas, Nevada .

Scholarly papers may focus on a wide array of topics as generally represented within BEA. A variety of theoretical as well as methodological approaches are welcome.

The theme for BEA 2005 is “Fifty Years of Excellence for Electronic Media Academics, Industry and Future Professionals.” Papers that reflect the theme are encouraged, but all topics are invited. For more information on the theme, go to www.beaweb.org/bea2005/theme.html.

Top papers in the “debut” and “open” categories will be selected for presentation and a few may be selected for the Scholar-to-Scholar poster session. (Note: This division is also currently procuring space and time for an additional research paper session.) At least one of the authors of an accepted paper must attend the convention for presentation.

For consideration, papers must meet the following requirements:

•  Length: no more than 30 double-spaced pages, including references and tables.

•  Style: APA or any style suited to the discipline

•  Include an abstract of 250 words or less.

•  Include a title page with author information (name, affiliated institution, address, phone number, e-mail address) and any A/V requirement. Also, specify on title page whether the submission is an “open” or “debut” entry.

•  Papers may not be submitted to more than one competition.

•  Papers must be received by December 1, 2004 .

•  Submit four (4) printed copies of the paper to:
