Communication Technology Division Call for Papers

The Communication Technology Division of the Broadcast Education Association invites competitive, scholarly papers from academics, students and professionals for presentation at the annual convention in Las Vegas , Nevada , April 21-23, 2005 . The BEA 2005 convention theme is "Fifty Years of Excellence for Electronic Media Academics, Industry and Future Professionals."

While the theme provides a focus for the convention, paper submissions are not required to relate directly to the convention theme.  Paper topics may focus on any topic within the broad category of communication technology.

Papers are submitted in either "Debut" or "Open" categories.  The Debut category is open only to those who have never previously presented a paper at a BEA Convention. Please mark your submission accordingly on the cover page.

First and second place winners in both categories receive $200 and $100 to help defray their costs of attending the convention.

The cover page should also have the title of the paper, the “Communication Technology Division” designation, and whether it is an "open" or "debut" entry. Any papers without such designation will be considered in the open category. Any references to the author or institutional affiliation should not appear anywhere else in the paper.

•  The title should be printed on the first page of the paper and in an abbreviated form in running head on all subsequent pages.

•  Papers should not exceed 30 double-spaced pages in length, including references and tables.

•  Use APA style or a style suited to the discipline.

•  Papers must be accompanied by an abstract not to exceed 250 words.
