Education Association
Student Research in Progress Competition
Call for Abstracts
Deadline: November 14, 2003
The Broadcast Education Association’s Research
Division invites graduate and undergraduate students to submit research
in progress to be considered for presentation and discussion at
the 49th Annual Convention & Exhibition, April 16-18, 2004,
in Las Vegas, Nevada. Research projects may focus on a wide range
of topics as generally represented within BEA, but should be at
a stage in which feedback and suggestions are appropriate. A variety
of perspectives as well as methodological approaches are welcome.
Projects with faculty co-author(s) are eligible, but the first author
must be a student. The theme for BEA 2004 is “Bold Vision,
Fresh Thinking: Untangling Media’s Gordian Knot.” Submissions
that reflect the theme are particularly encouraged, but not all
projects must conform. For more information on the theme, go to
www.beaweb.org/bea2004/theme.html. Student authors of top selected
projects will be invited to present in at least one regular session
at the convention.
