Case
Study Competition
Call for Entries
The Management
and Sales Division is sponsoring the fourth annual Case Study/Semester
Project competition for faculty members teaching courses in media
management, sales, programming, applied research or related areas.
The purpose of this competition is to enable faculty members to
submit case studies or advanced, semester long projects they have
found to be successful classroom assignments for peer-reviewed consideration.
Winning entries will be presented during a panel session at the
2004 BEA Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada and will be available for
review by BEA members on-line. This competition provides a means
of recognizing faculty members who have developed effective teaching
assignments that foster critical thinking by students, familiarity
with the media industries, hone media research skills and application
of the research, and stimulate students to pursue careers in media.
Applicants should submit three copies of the case
materials, including photocopies of related supporting materials
(company annual reports or other lengthy works need NOT be submitted
in full but a cover page and perhaps introductory pages that provide
an orientation to the case for a reviewer should be enclosed). Materials
posted on the Internet may be submitted through hardcopies along
with the website information.
Deadline for submission is Friday, November 14,
2003.
Entries should be sent to:
Greg Newton, Case Study Chair
School of Telecommunications
Ohio University
9 S. College St.
Athens, OH 45701
