Call for BEA2002 Convention Student Intern Coordinator

The BEA is accepting self nominations for Coordinator of BEA Convention Student Interns from BEA "Faculty BEA individual members". This volunteer position provides service to the broadcast education community by coordinating the Call for BEA Convention Interns and the on-site coordination of the Student Interns at the convention.

The BEA Convention will be held April 5-8,2002 in Las Vegas, Nevada, for three days. The convention interns aid the BEA staff in the on-site operation of the BEA convention office, registration booth, job placement center staffing, session room logistics, panelist assistance, awards luncheon ticket taking, and other duties as assigned. In return the Interns receive free registration to the BEA convention and complimentary registration to the NAB convention. The convention Coordinator will receive the same registration package.

The Convention Intern Coordinator will work with the BEA Assistant Director, receive and review applications, and choose responsible, mature students to accomplish the tasks as defined by BEA staff.

The Coordinator will correspond with students and secure their promise in writing that they will be able to pay their way to convention and pay for their own housing and will appear to work as interns during convention.

The Coordinator will correspond with the Interns to secure their promise to appear ready to work on the date and time of the Intern orientation meeting and the dates and hours of their intern responsibilities.

The Coordinator will aid BEA staff in the on-site coordination of the Interns during the three days of convention. Applicants should describe particular student advisory/coordinator experiences that would qualify the candidate. Thank you.
