BEA 2002 will feature a session focusing on the events of September 11, 2001. Participants will be competitively selected based upon the submission of abstracts. If accepted, papers can address any aspect of media/content/production/audiences/ethics/etc as the events have unfolded/are unfolding. Depending on the number of strong proposals we get, we'll have either 4-5 in a regular session, 8-9 in a high-density session, or more in a poster session. The session is tentatively scheduled for 3:30, Friday April 5, but all times are subject to radical change in December. Proposals should include the title, abstract, all A/V needs, names & affiliations of all authors, and full contact information of person submitting proposal. Authors will be expected to prepare full papers for the convention. Proposals must be RECEIVED by 4:00 pm (CST) Friday, February 1, 2002. All proposals will be evaluated by a panel of judges, whose decisions will be announced by Friday, February 15.
