Data Reporting for Your Classroom/Newsroom

Saturday, April 18
9:00 – 12:00 pm
Cost: $25

In this three-hour, hands-on session you will learn to find, mine (scrape) and clean datasets, then visualize them using tools from Datawrapper, Carto.com and other software to create cutting edge graphics that will work on-air and online. This is a valuable skill for investigative TV reporters, producers and digital students. Instructors and students attending the session will receive several online handouts and plug-play resources to help them teach these concepts and tools efficiently. Bring your laptop as it will be hands on. Prior to the session, make sure you have set up a free account at Datawrapper.de, Flourish.studio and MyMaps.google.com. Instructor: Mike Reilley | Twitter: @journtoolbox
