{"id":5229,"date":"2025-04-17T17:55:10","date_gmt":"2025-04-17T17:55:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.beaweb.org\/OL\/?page_id=5229"},"modified":"2025-04-30T20:18:07","modified_gmt":"2025-04-30T20:18:07","slug":"faculty-creative-25","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.beaweb.org\/OL\/faculty-creative-25","title":{"rendered":"Faculty Creative Works Competition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Submission Deadline: JUNE 15, 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The On-Location Faculty Creative Works Competition provides an opportunity for full-time faculty at colleges and universities to showcase their creative scholarship.\u00a0 Faculty work must have been completed in the past two years, and all faculty submissions are peer reviewed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Audio | Documentary | Film &amp; Video | Interactive Multimedia | News | Sports<b>\u00a0|\u00a0<\/b>Open*<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>*Open is for entries that do not fit in one of the other categories.<\/p>\n<p>Note: On-Location does not offer a Scriptwriting Competition as part of the Creative Works Competition.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>Audio Competition<\/strong>\u00a0allows faculty to showcase audio programming for radio and web\/digital.\u00a0 Entries can include, but are not limited to, the following types of submissions: air personality, comedy or drama, sports, educational program, PSA, promo, or commercial, or specialty program.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>Documentary Competition<\/strong>\u00a0showcases both short-form and long-form video documentaries produced by faculty.<\/p>\n<p>The<strong>\u00a0Film &amp; Video Competition<\/strong>\u00a0provides an opportunity for faculty to showcase their video production work.\u00a0 Entries can include, but are not limited to, the following types of submissions: commercial or PSA, educational or Instructional, narrative, and long form promotional.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>Interactive Multimedia Competition<\/strong>\u00a0recognizes excellence in content creation that demonstrates creativity and innovation in interactive media and emerging technology.\u00a0 \u201cInteractive\u201d refers to content that involves active participation by the intended audience, allowing the user to have some control over the engagement experience. Examples may include but are not limited to websites, kiosks, mobile apps, fixed media, or other projects.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>News Competition<\/strong>\u00a0awards outstanding work to faculty produced\u00a0<strong>television and radio<\/strong>\u00a0news reporting.\u00a0\u00a0 Entries can include, but are not limited to, the following types of submissions: television feature and hard news reporting, television newscasts, television news anchor or weathercaster, and television news magazine.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>Sports Competition<\/strong>\u00a0recognizes outstanding work for faculty television and video productions.\u00a0\u00a0 Entries can include, but are not limited to, the following types of submissions: television sports story\/feature, television sports news\/magazine program, television sports event production.<\/p>\n<p>The creative works competition is open to faculty who completed their entry while employed full-time at a college or university. You do not need to be a BEA member to enter.
