The engineering department is responsible for the ongoing maintenance and installation of all technology equipment in the television station, including video production equipment, automation, computers, servers, etc. This position reports to the Regional Chief Engineer and will work closely with the IT Administrators to ensure smooth technology rollouts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Experience and responsibilities:<br>\u2022Operates, maintains, updates and repairs hardware and systems used for broadcasting and business operations. \u2022Install and test new systems and technical infrastructure for the station.<br>\u2022Assists with facility and infrastructure maintenance.<br>\u2022Minimizes service interruptions at times of equipment and\/or system failure by rapidly identifying and implementing solutions.\u2022Installs and maintains the IT network, switches, data backups, workstations, and printers.\u2022Interprets and implements instructions and requests from other station personnel.<br>\u2022Communicate with members of the engineering team and other teams to effectively resolve equipment and system issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Requirements:<br>\u2022Technical trade school or bachelor\u2019s degree with a focus on digital media or technology preferred. Other valuable skills and experience that may be considered based on circumstances: Commercial HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and theatrical crew.<br>\u2022Must have a keen interest in current and emerging technology, especially in the video\/broadcast space.<br>\u2022Excellent communication skills, both oral and written<br>\u2022Excellent problem-solving skills, especially in stressful situations<br>\u2022Must be able to create technical documentation.<br>\u2022Valid driver\u2019s license with an acceptable driving record<br>\u2022Two years\u2019 experience with digital electronics systems in a video production environment preferred.<br>\u2022Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, and other office equipment<br>\u2022Experience with fiber connectivity, production setups, A\/V routing and patching, audio equipment, graphics systems and editing systems a plus.<br>\u2022Experience with transmitters, microwave equipment, and other broadcast-related RF equipment a plus<br>\u2022Experience evaluating, selecting, installing, servicing, and maintaining digital video equipment and information technology systems.<br>\u2022Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple ongoing tasks<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Disclaimer: Any offer of employment is contingent upon successfully passing a background screening and driving record.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>WXOW\/WQOW is an EOE-M\/F\/D\/V employer.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>WQOW, the ABC affiliate, in Eau Claire, WI is seeking a full time Chief Engineer position.
