The Maintenance/Transmitter Engineer is responsible for transmitter site maintenance, and maintenance of broadcast and technology related equipment at the studio and remote sites.

Oversee, maintain, and repair broadcast transmitter, antenna, and signal distribution systems.

Provide maintenance services to remote Transmitter, Tower, and Broadcast facilities and venues.

Participate in evaluating, selecting, installing, servicing, documenting, and maintaining broadcast equipment and information technology systems in the studio and remote sites.

Help implement new technologies and technical infrastructure for the facilities.Work closely with management and co-workers to meet company objectives.

Interface with outside vendors for repairs or upgrades on systems.

Understand and assist in compliance with rules and regulations applicable to FCC, local, state, and federal laws.

Other duties as needed.Requirements & SkillsPrevious broadcast engineering experience, with a strong RF and transmitter background preferred.Experience operating, troubleshooting, and repairing electronic broadcast equipment preferred.Basic knowledge of AC and DC power systems and test equipment.HVAC experience would be a compliment.

Strong interpersonal and organization skills.Good hand dexterity, ability to climb ladders, work in tight spots, lift minimum 50 lbs.

Polite composure under stress is required.

Basic knowledge and experience using hand and power tools.Knowledge of common business software applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook) a plus.Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

This position will require occasional night, weekend, and holiday work, along with overtime as situations demand.

Excellent communication and critical thinking skills, both oral and written with the ability to prioritize issues.

Valid driver’s license: Position requires some travel (appx. 25-35%) locally with occasional overnight stays required.

‘Can Do’ attitude, desire to learn new skills consistent with good engineering/IT practices.

Basic understanding of technical drawings and documents.
