Job Summary/Basic Function

The Department of Media Arts at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of assistant professor in Interactive Media. The start date for the position is August 1, 2024.

The successful candidate should be comfortable working in a dynamic academic landscape dictated by evolving technology, business, and societal contexts and are expected to teach undergraduate students, conduct scholarly activity, and perform university service.

The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses including Writing for Online, Mobile, and Game Platforms, Audience Research and Analysis, Online Content and Media Strategy for Current and Emerging Technologies, Representation in the Digital Media Sphere, Theory and History of Digital and Interactive Media, Measurement and Analytics, Search Engine Optimization, Generative Artificial Intelligence, Personal Branding, and Interactive Media Career Preparation.

Required EducationA terminal degree in interactive media or a closely related field is required by the appointment date. A master’s degree in interactive media or a closely related field with five (5) years of professional experience will be considered in lieu of a terminal degree.
