The Media Arts, Sciences, and Studies Department (MASS) in the Roy H. Park School of Communications at Ithaca College (located in Ithaca, NY) invites applications for a non-tenure-eligible Assistant Professor position in television and sports media production, specializing in the production of esports, beginning Aug. 16, 2024. We seek candidates who bring professional industry experience, preferably at the national level, and demonstrate a deep desire to teach the next generation of sports media professionals.

This position will serve students in the Sports Media and Television and Digital Media Production programs. The candidate will teach foundation-level through advanced-level courses in TV sports production and esports. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated record of professional accomplishment, bring increased visibility to the program, and join one of the country’s strongest undergraduate Sports Media and sports production programs.

Qualifications: A master’s degree in communications (or related field) and significant professional experience are required. The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to teach in ways that value a culturally diverse student population’s varied learning needs and interests. We also seek candidates with relevant experience and a record of professional engagement with groups and communities historically underrepresented in the academy.

Non-tenure-eligible faculty in the Park School teach 24 credits per academic year, serve as academic advisers for our students, and serve on academic committees at the program, department, school and college levels. They are expected to stay up to date on advancements in the field.
