Assistant Professor – Advanced Media Management – #077295The Advanced Media Management program (AMM) at Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications is seeking applicants for a tenure-track position. The successful candidate will have significant professional experience as a media industry leader or have a record of successful scholarly and/or creative activity in media and communications. The ideal candidate for this position will demonstrate teaching excellence and bring experience and proficiency in at least one area of advanced media and emerging technologies. The candidate should have or show clear evidence of an active/potential research and/or creative agenda and demonstrate leadership through professional and/or academic work. Preference will be given to candidates who possess a combination of professional experience, academic qualifications, and expertise in the field. Of particular interest are candidates with teaching experience or a consistent and visible track record of research/publications in areas related to: media industries, strategic management, media marketing, audience analysis, media technologies, content production and distribution, media policy, or media entrepreneurship. Their expertise should cover the unique challenges and dynamics of the media industry with a focus on emerging technologies such as: generative AI, blockchain, Web3, digital product development, virtual reality and metaverses, the application of data analytics, and other areas of advanced media. In addition, applicants should have the communication skills and cross-cultural abilities to maximize effectiveness when working with diverse groups of students, colleagues, and community members.
