The Eugene S. Pulliam School of Journalism and Creative Media in the College of Communication at Butler University invites applications for a nine-month renewable Lecturer in Journalism and Creative Media with an expected start date of August 2024. Lecturers typically teach four courses per semester. The successful candidate will primarily teach classes in the university core curriculum that contribute to requirements in the First-Year Seminar and in Global and Historical Studies. There will also be an opportunity to teach 1-3 courses per year in one or more of the following programs in the SJCM: Journalism, Sports Media, Esports Communication, Music Industry Studies, and/or Creative Media and Entertainment.About the First-Year Seminar at Butler University:Butler’s First-Year Seminar (FYS) introduces students to the interactive classroom by providing a venue for self-discovery within a supportive community. Among other things, GHS seeks to help students recognize the role of human interactions in shaping diverse identities and inequalities; to develop knowledge about historical moments, peoples, and places; and to appreciate the relationship between the past and the present. The Lecturer will be expected to teach in one or more of 12 existing courses.
