The Appalachian State University Department of Communication seeks a full-time lecturer in the field of advanced video production. The appointment begins August 1, 2022.

Minimum qualifications include:
-Earned bachelor’s degree and 10 years of industry experience, or a master’s degree and five years of industry experience.
-Evidence of professional production accomplishments.
-Evidence of valuing diversity and inclusion.

Job Details:
-Teach four classes each semester across a range of classes including advanced video production, lighting, editing, TV studio production, and other courses within the curriculum based on departmental needs and individual expertise.
-Advise majors in the Department of Communication.
-Serve on Department of Communication committees.

The Electronic Media/Broadcasting program is housed in the George G. Beasley Media Complex and is part of the Department of Communication, which is also home to the university’s three award-winning, student-run media outlets: HD TV channel AppTV, FCC-licensed radio station 90.5 WASU-FM, and news organization The Appalachian.

The Department of Communication offers majors in advertising, communication studies, electronic media/broadcasting, journalism, and public relations. The department employs 38 full-time faculty members dedicated to teaching more than 1,000 communication majors.
