Assistant Professor of Communications

Penn State Altoona invites applications for a tenure-track position to teach video production, journalism, and media production for the 2019 fall semester. The successful candidate will teach upper-level students video production, introductory-level courses, while supervising campus media, including LiveWire, Penn State Altoona’s online multimedia magazine. The successful candidate must demonstrate a commitment to high standards in video production and journalism, as well as a desire to consistently challenge students to produce portfolio content that meets rigorous industry standards. Maintaining a focused research agenda is also required. The start date for this position is August 2019. Applicants must hold a terminal degree or be in a strong position to complete all necessary degree requirements by August 2019 and possess some industry-level experience.
