The School of the Arts, Communication, and Global Studies at York College of Pennsylvania invites applications for a full-time faculty position in the field of Mass Communications. The position will be at the rank of Instructor, non-tenure track. Preferred applicants will hold at least a Master’s degree in Video or Television Production, Mass Communications, or Broadcasting with an emphasis in live production, directing, producing, and related applications. Practical field and studio production experience will be strongly preferred. The start date is late August, 2019.
As a teaching-focused institution, York College seeks candidates committed to cultivating student excellence in conceptualizing, writing, and producing both studio and live field production in sports, news and public affairs, documentary and entertainment programming. Successful candidates will have demonstrable success in teaching a range of courses such as Video Production, Documentary/Film Production, Advanced Production and Non-Linear Production. Candidates may also teach Broadcast Media Writing, Media Law and Ethics, and Media Management. Experience in Adobe Creative Cloud preferred.
Please submit a current vita and cover letter with three references for initial evaluation. Candidates who remain in consideration will be asked to provide a show-reel of their production, editing, and directing work to the search committee. Finalists will be expected to demonstrate competence with video, television studio, and field equipment as part of the on campus interview process.
