Huntington University, a Christ-centered non-profit Liberal Arts University established in 1897, is seeking applicants for a full-time tenure track faculty position in broadcast media beginning August 2018. This new faculty member will have the exciting opportunity of growing our broadcast media program operating out of our new 30,000 square foot HU Arizona Center for Digital Media Arts in Peoria, AZ.


The ideal candidate will possess a sincere passion for his/her craft and a heart for seeing students succeed in the broadcast industry and as people of faith. The committee will strongly consider candidates with industry experience in news broadcasting, sports broadcasting, corporate media, and/or church media. Huntington’s Digital Media Arts faculty members are committed practitioners and scholars who encourage students and colleagues to pursue excellence. This individual will teach introductory, intermediate and advanced courses in broadcast media including: TV studio production, electronic field production, electronic newsgathering, TV sports production, corporate media, and other courses in the candidate’s area of specialization.

The new faculty member will: help students fulfill their maximum potentials, maintain up-to-date knowledge in his/her teaching field, maintain standards of professional conduct appropriate to broadcast-related professionals, and recruit students at local high schools and community colleges. This is a 9-month position.

Qualifications sought:

5-years industry experience in broadcast media or related field.
Experience teaching at the college level.
Preferred terminal degree (MFA or Ph.D.). Candidates must complete a terminal degree in the field by the time of tenure review.
