Individual Members are current or retired educators at academic institutions with active interests in electronic media and other individuals of multimedia enterprises related to teaching, research and creative endeavors. 

AllMemberships are based on the calendar year, January through December. 

RATES: Faculty Member - $130 | Industry Professional Member - $145 | Emeritus Member - $35 (Retired professors over 65 yrs. of age) 

MEMBER BENIFITS INCLUDE:
Access to BEA Connect, BEA's social site for members to engage, communicate & share resources. Members can connect through a network of announcements, discussions, interests and concerns. You'll find everything from discussions on tenure and promotion to student internship opportunities to convention presentations.

Join up to four of BE's 17 Interest Divisions, each offer newsletters, paper competitions and networking for research, curriculum and job opportunities. 

BEA's Membership Directory is searchable by person, school and state – start your search and connect with other colleagues, Corporate Associate Members or State Broadcast Associations.

Publications/Subscriptions: BEA publishes three journals:
Journal of Broadcasting & Electronic Media (JOBEM) - A quarterly, peer-reviewed publication.  Members receive a hard-copy of the journal.
Journal of Radio & Audio Media (JRAM) - A bi-annual, peer-reviewed publication - a hard-copy subscription is available for $14 each year and can be added to your membership.
Journal of Media Education (JoME) - A quarterly & editor-reviewed publication (only available online).
Members may select one complimentary Taylor & Francis journal and receive a 20% discount on all Taylor & Francis books and journals.

Research Awards/Grants and Creative Competitions are available through our paper competitions, Festival of Media Arts, Distinguished Education Service AwardLifetime Achievement in Scholarship Award, Kenneth Harwood Outstanding Dissertation Award, and the New Faculty Research Grant.

E-Newsletters will keep you posted on deadlines & events, training opportunities, grants, scholarships, conventions, equipment & software manufacturers, multimedia and publishing organizations.

Members receive voting privileges and the opportunity to be elected to the Board of Directors and/or a leadership seat within BEA Interest Divisions. Please contact your BEA District or Interest Division Rep for information.

BEA's Annual Convention has a special member rate which includes comp registration to the annual NAB Show and the NABEF/BEA Career Fair- which are co-located in Las Vegas every April. 

 Workshops/Seminars/District Meetings take place all year, stay on the lookout for seminars like the TW Thought Leadership Seminar in NYC. 

 15% discount to Future Media Concepts (FMC) Training Workshops.
