The Mass Communications program seeks to fill the University
Television Channel 13 General Manager/Adjunct Instructor position in its
growing undergraduate mass communications major, which ranks as the 8th
largest across the University. The UTV GM is responsible for the
planning, development, and implementation of UTV-13 mission, goals, and
policies. The GM provides support directly or indirectly for courses
taught by Mass Communications faculty and manages the daily
administration and operation of the station. The GM develops and
oversees station programming for the University and surrounding
Carrollton community. The GM is expected to develop and implement a
convergent multimedia environment (i.e., collaboration with other campus
media like The WOLF Internet Radio and The West Georgian newspaper,
programming for the web, social networking) and assist in the
development and maintenance of a convergent newsroom. The GM manages and
supervises all full-time and part-time staff (including student
workers). As an adjunct instructor, the GM teaches up to 2 courses per
semester, typically production or writing and practicum. More

The University of West Georgia (www.westga.edu) is a University System
of Georgia doctorate-granting comprehensive institution of nearly 11,000
students located less than an hour west of Atlanta, the 7th ranked U.S.
media market. Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Mass
Communications, Telecommunications, Broadcast Journalism, and/or Digital
Imaging required. Experience in management, programming, teaching,
television production, media services, multimedia convergence, media
services, and/or digital video editing. Salary: Commensurate with
