Chair of Communication (tenure track) Location: Communicative Arts and Sciences Salary: Commensurate with education and experience; chair stipend and course release included Deadline Date: Open until filled, with review of applications beginning February 15 2010 Date Available: Fall semester, 2010 Job Summary: As Chair, responsibilities include visionary planning for the department and its state of the art facilities as well as its collaborative relationship with the PBS, NPR/PRI affiliate station. The chair is responsible for curriculum planning, hiring faculty members, mentoring and evaluating faculty, managing the departmental budget, and recruiting students. The Chair is also charged with executing further and future collaborations within the college of fine arts and its departments of art, music, and theatre (digital cinema arts). Minimum Qualifications: A graduate degree in Communication or a closely related field; Ph.D. preferred. The successful candidate will bring a record of proven leadership in academia and the field. Academic rank to be determined by candidate’s qualifications.
